Thank you for choosing our workshop and kit for Natural Skincare products. The note below include details about the ingredients and their benefits as well as the recipes.

The kit includes ingredients to make three products:

Product 1 – Moisturising Balm
The winter is a harsh time for our skin.  Exposed skin seems to worst affected parts, so during winter it is a great idea to use balms and butters  to give your skin the intensive moisture it needs. Balms are easy to make, and can be made with beautifully moisturising oils and butters  such as Cocoa Butter, almond oil and natural beeswax.

Product 2 – Solid Massage Bar
It may resemble a bar of soap, but it acts like a moisturiser. The bar will stay solid when kept at room temperature, it can be used anywhere on the body and when it is applied your body heat will slightly melt the bar. Your lotion bar is made from all natural ingredients including butters and oils like Cocoa butter, Shea butter, Beeswax, and an oil.

Product 3 – Lemon Honey Sugar Scrub
Treat your skin with this scrub. Cocoa Butter and Almond Oil moisturize, while sugar and the lemon peel powder gently scrub away dead skin leaving a lovely smooth skin. With a lovely Lemon Honey Fragrance this scrub is perfect to add a glow to winter skin.

What is a Lotion Bar?

A lotion bar is a solid lotion. It resembles a bar of soap, but acts like a lotion. The bar will stay solid when kept at room temperature or lower. It can be used anywhere on the body where the warmth of the skin will start melting it.

Lotion bars are typically made from all natural ingredients including butters and oils like Cocoa butter, Shea butter, Beeswax, Jojoba oil, Avocado butter, Sweet Almond oil, Hempseed oil and essential oils. You can also make your lotion bar into an exfoliating bar by adding ingredients such as Himalayan Pink Salt or even sugar.

Why is a Lotion Bar Better?

Why is the lotion bar better, you ask?? Here are some reasons.

1.No Packaging
Because the lotion is solid, there is no need to package lotion in a plastic bottle.

2. Use In the shower for  Increased Moisturising
The best time to apply moisturiser is when your pores are open i.e. just out of the shower/bath. This allows the lotion to deeply penetrate skin as well as seal and protect skin throughout the day.

3. Purity/No Fillers
Skin safe as they only contain natural ingredients and no fillers.

Students will be provided with a kit that will be posted out and includes the ingredients, moulds and packaging to make three different products.
